NatWest Group is recruiting a Business Risk Manager for Lending C&I, joining the enterprise risk function in Birmingham. You will partner with the Business Risk Partner and business teams to identify, assess, monitor and report risks across the area, enabling safe growth and customer outcomes.
You will deliver risk insights, governance reporting, and remediation actions, coordinating risk and control assessments and escalation of emerging risks to support informed decision-making.

As a Business Risk Manager, you'll act as a trusted point of contact for the business, providing real-time insight of the end-to-end risk profile and contributing to the ongoing review of Risk and Control Self-Assessments through proactive monitoring and governance reporting. You'll also deliver intelligent insight through engagement with business leaders and partners across all three lines of defence, helping to ensure effective risk management and informed decision-making.
Moreover, you'll analyse risk and control data, including events, issues, and management information, to identify control weaknesses and support the implementation of effective management actions. You'll also coordinate risk and control assessments, risk forums, governance reporting, and remediation plans, while escalating emerging risks and control issues to the Business Risk Partner with recommendations that support safe business growth and good customer outcomes.

We're looking for someone with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, as well as a good understanding of the Commercial and Institutional banking business. You will have experience and a solid working knowledge of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, including control design, governance, data analysis, and risk culture. You should also be able to translate policy and framework requirements into simple day-to-day risk and control activities, enabling business colleagues to manage risk effectively.
To succeed in this role, you must bring a strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret management information, identify risk and control improvement opportunities, and deliver clear recommendations and reporting that support effective management action and informed decision-making.
