Job summary

Future Electronics seeks a Business Report Writer to support data visualization, reporting and insights from our EMEA office in Egham, Surrey. You will develop, maintain and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards for operational and strategic use.

The role involves collaborating with analysts and stakeholders, producing regular and ad-hoc reports, and driving improvements through automation and data-driven decision support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Finance or related field.
• Proven data analysis/BI experience preferred.
• Strong Excel/Access and Power BI skills (DAX, Power Query).
• Ability to automate reports using Visual Basic.

Responsibilities

• Generate and analyse business and supplier reports for management.
• Verify credibility and alignment of reports with business needs; investigate anomalies.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts for engineering and related departments.

Job Outline:

The role of the Business Report Writer is to support data visualization, reporting, and business insights across the organisation. This role is ideal for an analytics professional who is comfortable working with data, eager to learn, and enthusiastic about transforming raw information into clear, actionable dashboards that drive decision-making.

The Business Report Writer will collaborate closely with business analysts, cross-functional stakeholders, and technical teams to develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards that support operational and strategic initiatives.

What the role involves:

• Generate and analyse business / supplier reports to management, to support business decisions
• Question credibility of reports, alignment of reports with current business needs and investigates anomalies
• Initiate, prepare and complete budgets and forecasts for engineering and associated departments ensuring the format is flexible to react to market / management changes to aid business planning
• Create periodic and ad-hoc reports to assess the performance of business areas and promotions across various benchmarks enabling effective resource focus
• Automation of reports to management and on-time delivery of standardised reports to all recipients
• Support sales operational directives with production of report / tools to assist with business decisions
• Assists other Business Analyst team members with their work and act as a support when others are absent
• Continually increase relevant knowledge and skills relating to the role
• Additional projects or duties as management define, at times required

Do you have:

• Ideally educated with a degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Finance or related field having a couple of years’ experience in data analysis / BI or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Access, Power BI (DAX, Power Query) including the ability to write visual basic (VB) for the automation of reports.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Effective communicator with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Self-motivated with a desire to grow business and technical knowledge
