THE OPPORTUNITY

Title: Business Process & IT Support Analyst

Location: Hinton House, Warrington

Reports to (direct): Programme Manager

Working Pattern: Site Specific

Other: SC clearance will be required. (The post you are applying for attracts a Personnel Security clearance subject to further eligibility criteria to meet national security vetting requirements. You will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years for SC prior to the date of application.)

Job summary

The Business Process & IT Support Analyst will provide front-line technical support, training, and issue resolution for end-users on hardware, software, and peripherals, aiming for self-sufficiency. Managing service tickets, change requests, process improvements, and training.

As this role is part of the Programme Management Office, you will work closely with Operations to support User Acceptance Testing, application/solution development, compliance, security, and other activities to deliver the innovation strategy. Always be looking for alternative solutions (software and hardware/tech) to enhance products or reduce costs.

Your role in our mission:

  • User acceptance testing of new and upgraded IT platforms and applications
  • Support for service introduction of new services, applications, and technologies following ITIL best practices
  • Deliver project-specific activities as directed by the PMO
  • Maintain and service scanners and digitisation equipment, raising support calls as needed
  • Test application changes and prepare documentation for CAB approval
  • Serve as super user for key applications and contact point for issues
  • Manage Microsoft applications, SQL databases, scripting, and MS365
  • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines
  • Propose process improvements and develop new ideas
  • Develop new innovations and products aligned with the strategy
  • Log and process support calls, manage change processes
  • Install and configure hardware, software, networks, printers, scanners
  • Plan and perform scheduled upgrades
  • Set up staff accounts and assist with login issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software faults
  • Develop and deliver user training
  • Ensure electrical safety of equipment
  • Maintain health and safety, report incidents
  • Follow security procedures to ensure site security and confidentiality

Specific Duties:

  • Create and manage IT Service Desk and User Accounts
  • Research software solutions for efficiency
  • Interpret data related to policies and workflows
  • Support project analysis, planning, implementation, and testing
  • Evaluate risks and predict problems
  • Act as liaison between business and IT
  • Incorporate user feedback into projects
  • Identify process improvements and cost savings
  • Assist PMO in achieving objectives
  • Contribute to project development and innovation strategies
