Job summary

St Matthew's Church of England Primary Academy is seeking a Business Operations Manager to oversee administrative, site, ICT and financial systems, ensuring they are efficient, compliant and responsive to need. The postholder will support senior leaders, meet statutory and Trust requirements, and help maintain effective communications, data management and service delivery across the school.

Business Operations Manager

37 hours per week, Full Time

Permanent

All Year Round, 52.13 weeks per year

St Matthew's Church of England Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a Business Operations Manager who will play a key role in supporting the academy’s strategic and operational objectives by ensuring administrative, site, ICT and financial systems are efficient, compliant and responsive to need. The postholder will contribute towards strong organisational practice, support senior leaders in meeting statutory and Trust requirements, and help maintain effective communication, data management and service delivery across the school. The role supports continuous improvement by promoting consistency, accuracy and professionalism in all administrative functions, both within the academy and, where required, across the Trust.

This role is vital in providing the Trust with assurance at a local Academy level that all appropriate business and operations functions are being delivered in a compliant and statutory manner. Whilst reporting directly to the Headteacher, this role will work closely with Trust officers and the wider School Business Professionals team to ensure the Trust's statutory requirements, and strategic objectives are being met at a local level, while identifying opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate will be personable and engaging, use initiative, be flexible, and possess good customer service, ICT and communication skills. The role requires someone well‑organised, efficient, flexible, calm, friendly, motivated and passionate about providing an excellent support service to our children, staff and visitors. Training will be given to the right candidate but good IT skills, particularly with Google Docs/Sheets, and knowledge of SIMS would be an advantage.

Job Requirements
  • Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils and parents
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Very good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • GCSEs at grade C or above in English and Maths
