Breedon Group is seeking a Business Manager – Aggregates East based at Willington Quarry, Bedfordshire. You will lead the operational, commercial and financial performance of the Aggregates & Asphalt East, translating strategy into safe, efficient daily delivery and driving revenue, profitability and performance.

This senior leadership role requires inspiring diverse teams, strengthening customer relationships and building a sustainable, high-performing business.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in business leadership and strategy.
• Strong financial, commercial and EBITDA management.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage stakeholders.

• Experience in aggregates, asphalt or construction materials.

Position Overview: The Business Manager – Aggregates & Asphalt East will lead the operational, commercial and financial performance of our Aggregates & Asphalt business across the East. Translating strategy into safe, efficient and effective day-to-day delivery, you will drive high-quality production, excellent customer service and continuous improvement in revenue, profitability and performance.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially astute and hands-on leader who can inspire diverse teams, strengthen customer relationships and build a sustainable, high-performing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development strategies for Aggregates & Asphalt across the area.
• Set and monitor annual production, sales and EBITDA forecasts, taking timely corrective action where required.
• Drive safe, efficient and high-quality operations through robust performance review, cost control and continuous improvement.
• Develop long-term asset performance and capital investment plans that support sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
• Lead pricing and commercial performance reviews to improve revenue, margins, market share, and customer value.
• Identify growth opportunities through market insight, customer segmentation, diversification and direct engagement with major accounts.
• Lead, coach and develop operational and commercial management teams, building capability, accountability and a strong talent pipeline.
• Champion visible leadership and a positive, inclusive culture focused on health, safety, wellbeing, collaboration and improvement

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• A demonstrable track record of delivering financial performance while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
• Significant experience of developing business strategy and leading successful delivery through diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to manage operational performance, costs, pricing and profitability.
• Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with the credibility to build effective internal, external and customer relationships.
• Proven success in coaching and developing high-performing individuals and teams.
• High integrity, resilience and sound judgement, with the ability to operate effectively in a complex and changing market.
• Experience within aggregates, asphalt, construction materials or a similarly complex operational and commercial environment.
