Business Intelligence Engineer, WHS Data

The WHS Data team is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE). The Data team spans the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Engineering (DE) functional areas, responsible for providing all reporting solutions required by the WHS Organization to drive workplace safety and regulatory compliance worldwide. This BIE role will primarily support the data and reporting needs for the Business Unit (BU) BI team in the WHS Organization. The role requires close engagement with senior leaders and principal PMs to generate insights and deep dives into core metrics that impact organizational decisions. The role demands high proficiency in complex SQL scripting, often joining multiple data sets from diverse sources. It requires ownership, autonomy, and the ability to communicate project roadmaps, prioritization, and release notes effectively to stakeholders, including leadership.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the design, implementation, and delivery of BI solutions for complex and ambiguous problems
  2. Conduct deep dive analyses and formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership
  3. Identify opportunities to drive analytical reporting and business strategy
  4. Produce written recommendations and insights to shape metric development and reporting
  5. Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and data-driven activities
  6. Partner with Data Engineering to enhance data infrastructure and access to insights
  7. Develop and promote best practices in data integrity, analysis, and documentation
  8. Learn new technologies to support product and process innovation
Minimum qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Quicksight
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipelines
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, or Matlab
  • SQL proficiency and scripting experience with Python for data processing
  • Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or related field
Preferred qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc.
  • Experience with AWS solutions like EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, and handling large-scale datasets
  • Master's degree in relevant quantitative fields
