Job summary

SPG Resourcing in York is seeking a Power BI Developer to build and enhance high-quality reporting and dashboards across the business. You will work hands-on, taking reporting requirements from stakeholders through to delivery and ongoing improvement.

You will develop DAX measures and Power Query transformations, work with SQL, and help optimise report performance and usability while ensuring accuracy and documentation. A collaborative, data-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Power BI reports in a commercial environment.
• Ability to translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
• Experience with semantic modelling, dimensional modelling, Row-Level Security or deployment pipelines is beneficial.

We’re working with a well established organisation in York that is continuing to invest in its Data, Analytics and BI capability and is looking to appoint a Power BI Developer.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and improving high-quality Power BI reporting and dashboards used across the business.

You’ll work closely with experienced Data, BI and Product professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop your technical skills while taking ownership of reporting solutions from requirements through to delivery and ongoing improvement.

• Develop DAX measures and Power Query transformations
• Support the development of semantic and dimensional data models
• Work with SQL to extract, transform and analyse data
• Help improve report performance and usability
• Work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
• Support testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance of Power BI products
• Ensure reporting is accurate, consistent and well documented
• Work closely with wider Data and Analytics teams to improve reporting standards

Skills & Experience

You should have experience delivering Power BI reports in a commercial environment and be comfortable taking requirements from the business and turning them into clear, useful reporting.

Experience with areas such as semantic modelling, dimensional modelling, Row-Level Security, deployment pipelines, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric would be beneficial but isn’t essential.

This would suit a Power BI Developer or BI Analyst looking to take the next step, work on more complex reporting products and continue developing within an established data function.
