Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an ambitious Lead Practitioner of Business Studies & Economics at a dynamic Swindon school to drive vocational and academic studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, starting in January.

The role combines expert classroom delivery with strategic curriculum leadership, teaching GCSE Business, A-Level Economics, and BTEC Nationals, while coaching teachers and expanding young enterprise partnerships. It is a full-time, permanent position based in Swindon.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) with a degree in Economics, Business Management, or Finance.
• Proven track record of outstanding GCSE, A-Level, and BTEC exam outcomes.
• Experience in vocational portfolio moderation, peer coaching, or key stage subject leadership.
• Active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Deliver GCSE Business, A-Level Economics, and Level 3 BTEC with exemplary classroom delivery.
• Lead coaching in macro/microeconomic modelling, financial calculation techniques, and essay evaluation.
• Act as Lead Internal Verifier for vocational Business coursework portfolios.
• Oversee enterprise challenges, Young Enterprise competitions, and guest corporate speaker visits.
• Analyse Sixth Form progress data to inform targeted exam revision workshops.
• Mentor non-specialist teachers delivering introductory business and economics concepts.
