Career Legal is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support its Capital Markets, Finance & Restructuring practices. You will work with senior lawyers and BD leaders on growth initiatives across the EMEA region.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of business development experience in a professional services environment.
• Experience in a law firm, ideally within corporate, finance, capital markets or restructuring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pitches, proposals and RFP responses.
• Manage legal directory and award submissions and league table reporting.
• Develop and maintain credentials, marketing collateral and client materials.
• Support client targeting and cross selling initiatives and key client programmes.
• Assist with strategic business plans development and implementation.
• Conduct market, client and competitor research with CI team.

We are currently working with an international law firm that is looking to hire a Business Development Specialist to support its market leading Capital Markets, Finance & Restructuring practice groups.

The role offers exposure to high profile client development projects, cross selling initiatives, pitches, events, market intelligence, and practice strategy within a truly global environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in helping drive the growth and profile of the firm's Capital Markets, Finance & Restructuring practices. Working closely with partners, fee earners and colleagues across the global BD team, you will support a broad range of business development and marketing activities that directly contribute to the firm's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing compelling pitches, proposals and RFP responses.
• Managing legal directory and award submissions, as well as league table reporting.
• Developing and maintaining credentials, marketing collateral and client facing materials.
• Supporting client targeting and cross selling initiatives, including key client programmes.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of strategic business plans.
• Conducting market, client and competitor research alongside the firm's Competitive Intelligence team.
• Organising and supporting client events, seminars, webinars and sponsorship activity.
• Maintaining business development activity and experience data within CRM and experience management systems.
• Collaborating with PR, Communications, Digital, Marketing and Content teams on profile-raising initiatives.
• Coordinating practice group meetings, tracking actions and monitoring progress against objectives.

About You

• At least 3 years' business development experience within a professional services environment.
• Previous law firm experience, ideally within a corporate, finance, capital markets, banking or restructuring practice.
• A genuine interest in financial markets and the wider Capital Markets, Debt Finance & Restructuring sector.
• Strong pitch, proposal and client development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities.
• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach.
• Confidence building relationships with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
