Business Development/Sales Director, Asset Management

Our client, an asset management firm with both public and private products based in London, is seeking a Business Development/Sales Director to lead their strategic growth initiatives.

This senior role is pivotal in expanding the firm's market presence and developing new business relationships primarily across the UK institutional sector.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive sales and distribution strategies to strengthen the firm's market position and secure new business, focusing on UK institutional mandates such as LGPS/local government pension schemes and DC/defined contribution/master trusts.
  2. Promote and distribute flagship investment solutions in private markets and fiduciary services.
  3. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with institutional investors, investment consultants, and industry stakeholders.
  4. Collaborate with investment teams to produce marketing materials including pitch decks, RFP/due diligence documents, and thought leadership content.
  5. Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to craft targeted messaging and organize industry events.
  6. Manage and mentor junior business development staff, supporting their professional growth.

Requirements

  1. Extensive experience in UK institutional asset management with a successful business development background.
  2. Deep understanding of the UK institutional investment landscape, especially in LGPS/local government pension schemes and DC/defined contribution/master trusts.
  3. Experience with private markets products or asset classes is advantageous.
