Business Development Representative - Money 20/20

Informa Festivals marks an exciting new chapter in B2B events, bringing together some of the world's most influential creative, technology, and business festivals. We combine prestigious events like Cannes Lions, Black Hat, Money20/20, GDC, and London Tech Week with marketing intelligence platforms and advisory services to deliver impactful experiences and insights.

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Outbound Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our commercial team. You will play a key role in building qualified lead pipelines for our New Business Account Managers, focusing on Money20/20 Europe.

Your responsibilities include identifying and engaging potential sponsors, exhibitors, and strategic partners worldwide through market research, outbound outreach, and attending industry events to build relationships and deepen market understanding.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in high-impact B2B sales and international business development within the global events industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and identify high-potential fintech companies, trade associations, and innovation bodies aligned with our event audiences to generate sponsorship opportunities and build a pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Engage outbound prospects via cold outreach, LinkedIn, email, and CRM tools to build relationships and qualify interest.
  • Attend UK and European-based industry events to generate leads, gather market intelligence, and support commercial targets.
  • Articulate the value of international exposure, partnerships, and industry collaboration through Money20/20.
  • Educate prospects on how attending, exhibiting, or sponsoring can boost their brand visibility and global engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Head of New Business, Account Managers, and stakeholders to develop tailored outreach strategies by segment.
  • Maintain detailed prospecting activity in CRM to ensure pipeline accuracy and performance tracking.
  • Implement strategic cadences to deliver sales-qualified leads to the sales team.
  • Research customers, identify decision-makers, and qualify buying interest within the fintech industry.
  • Stay updated with industry trends.
  • Share learnings and develop internal relationships to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in Business Development or Sales, ideally in B2B events, recruitment, media, or sponsorship sales.
  • Proactive, commercially minded, with a track record of building and converting outbound pipelines.
  • Skilled in desk research and qualifying opportunities efficiently.
  • Willing to attend industry events across the UK and Europe.
  • Confident in engaging senior stakeholders via email, phone, LinkedIn, and face-to-face.
  • Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Outlook, Teams, and other productivity tools.
