Location: Field-based work in Southeast England & work from home

About the Role

Russell Taylor Group offers a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager in Southeast England. This role is suitable for individuals with chromatography experience (HPLC, GC, LC, etc.) in a laboratory setting and sales background, or experienced chromatography marketplace professionals looking to transition into sales.

The role involves traveling 2-3 times weekly within the region, managing your own diary, and meeting set targets. The successful candidate will drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing existing clients, developing strategic relationships, and increasing revenue.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow existing accounts; develop and execute strategic sales plans within chromatography sector.
  • Identify, target, and acquire new customers, including dormant accounts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Generate leads via networking, industry events, cold calling, and digital channels; travel approximately 3 days a week.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback.
  • Conduct market research and provide insights for business expansion.
  • Identify early sales opportunities and close deals independently.
  • Deliver presentations, represent the company at exhibitions, prepare proposals, and report activity and forecasts weekly.
The Person
  • Experience with chromatography (HPLC, LC, GC) in a lab or technical sales experience.
  • Resident in Southeast England.
  • Willing to travel regionally 2-3 times weekly.
  • Flexible to attend exhibitions and events, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Calm under pressure, proficient in Microsoft Office, effective communicator, confident in target-driven environments, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • UK driving license.
