Job description

Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for working with Operational Management teams and Finance teams as the key contact in the Business Development Team. They will lead in developing and marketing new and existing education services, as well as conducting ongoing public relations exercises to increase the company's profile. The role involves maximizing occupancy within educational establishments by working closely with school and college principals and their teams. The manager will collaborate with the Business Development team and wider Salutem colleagues to create new educational services aligned with commissioning demand, using available information to strategize and respond effectively. Acting as a representative of Salutem Care and Education, the manager will embody our core values and promote the organization’s standards externally. The role also includes overseeing processes to maintain and improve occupancy across all Salutem sites and services.

Role information

£60,000 increasing to £65,000 after successful probation. Home-based with travel required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote Salutem Care and Education, its brands, and services to prospective purchasers, carers, and professionals.
  2. Lead development of new services based on commissioner relationships and strategic aims.
  3. Support the Business Development referral team and site referral teams.
  4. Contribute to team KPIs, focusing on increasing occupancy.
  5. Coordinate visits for prospective purchasers and interested parties.
  6. Assist with tenders, bids, and projects, providing input on opportunities.
  7. Support marketing and PR activities, including producing promotional materials.
  8. Supervise the education Vacancy and Referral Lead to meet KPI targets.
  9. Coordinate between education and residential services on the same site.
  10. Participate in conference and promotional activities, representing the company.
  11. Seek to fill vacancies through existing and new purchasers.
  12. Work with finance to ensure correct fees and discuss delayed payments with commissioners.
  13. Establish and maintain relationships with potential and current purchasers and authorities.
  14. Contribute to Board reports on new development opportunities.
  15. Inform and gather feedback from the wider team on new developments.
  16. Collaborate with operational teams to remodel existing services for future needs.
  17. Promote a positive corporate culture and support staff engagement.
  18. Actively promote Salutem Group to carers, professionals, and stakeholders.
