Business Development Manager - EAST

About the Role

Are you passionate about building strong relationships and supporting growth in the mortgage intermediary market? We¿re looking for a motivated and collaborative Business Development Manager to join our Sales team and represent our brand with professionalism and integrity. This role covers the following areas, so the successful candidate should be based locally for ease of travel :

Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ilford, Ipswich, Norwich, Romford, Southend-On-Sea

What You'll Do
  • Develop and manage accounts with mortgage intermediaries in your region, generating high-quality mortgage completions.
  • Represent our brand at regional events, trade roadshows, and exhibitions.
  • Ensure intermediaries have a clear understanding of our products, target market, and criteria.
  • Focus on business quality, volume, and mix to achieve monthly targets.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with brokers, developing new and ongoing business opportunities, including active engagement on LinkedIn.
  • Identify and convert prospect accounts into key supporters.
  • Collaborate internally to address quality issues and uncover opportunities.
  • Organise and attend seminars, exhibitions, and corporate hospitality events.
  • Promote additional financial products as required.
  • Construct and deliver a regional Sales Plan using our data tools.
  • Use CRM systems to manage activity, monitor performance, and compile market intelligence.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA principles and company policies, including Treating Customers Fairly and financial crime prevention.
What We're Looking For
  • Knowledge of specialist lending mortgage products and a clear understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentation and report writing.
  • Comfortable working with figures and tracking performance.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel / stay overnight as needed.
  • Educated to at least A level standard or professional equivalent (e.g., FPC).
  • Committed to ongoing professional development (CeMAP qualification).
  • Proven experience in business-to-business sales within financial services.
  • Experience managing IFA and intermediary relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM databases, and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Regulatory knowledge relevant to the sector.
  • CeMAP / CF1 & CF2 qualified or working towards qualification.
