Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking two experienced Business Development Managers to join a leading training organisation. The role is home/field based with a salary of £35,000 - £42,000 plus bonus and full-time permanent employment.

You will identify and engage with SME and Levy employer clients for Apprenticeships and Skills Bootcamps, develop new business, and hit growth targets while advising on funding reforms. A driving licence and flexibility to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing new business with SMEs and Levy employers for Apprenticeships.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of meeting targets.
• Full, clean driving licence with willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage with businesses to promote Apprenticeship and Skills Bootcamps.
• Develop new business and manage existing relationships in a consultative approach.
• Work toward growth and revenue targets.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss training needs.
• Advise employers on Apprenticeship Levy and funding reforms.
• Design training plans to meet employer requirements.
• Monitor market and identify new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts regularly and meet deadlines.
• Cross-sell additional products to clients.

Essential Criteria

• The successful Business Development Manager will have proven experience of developing new business with SME’s and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts, or Commercial training.
• Strong CV that shows longevity as a BDM within the apprenticeship / skills arena
• Exceptional communication skills, with the desire and drive to succeed.
• Strong understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Proven experience of generating own employer leads, negotiating / winning, and closing new business.
• Experience of working towards and achieving targets.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel (as and when required)

The Role

• Proactively identify and engage with businesses, to promote our client's offering of Apprenticeship and Skills Bootcamps qualifications.
• Working in a consultative way, to create new business and develop existing business relationships.
• Working towards and achieving targets linked to growth and revenue.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss their training and recruitment needs.
• Give advice and support to employers regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and future funding reforms.
• Undertake Organisational Needs Analysis and design / develop training plans to meet employer’s needs.
• Keep up to date with competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the market and scoping out new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis and meet month end sales deadlines.
• Cross sell other products, seizing all opportunities to offer clients a well-rounded service.
