Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive Apprenticeship and Commercial training sales. This role is home/field based with travel flexibility, targeting SMEs and Levy employers. You will build relationships, generate leads, and close new business while hitting targets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven BDM track record in apprenticeships, strong communication, and a solid understanding of funding criteria and Levy spending. A full driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing new business with SMEs and Levy employers for Apprenticeships or Commercial training.
• Longevity as a BDM within the apprenticeship/skills arena.
• Excellent communication skills and drive to succeed.
• Strong understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Proven experience generating employer leads, negotiating and closing deals.
• Experience working towards targets.
• Full, clean driving licence and full vehicle to use.
• Flexible with travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and engage with businesses to promote Apprenticeship and Commercial training programmes.
• Develop new business and nurture existing relationships in a consultative way.
• Meet growth and revenue targets with robust sales forecasting.
• Attend meetings with decision-makers to discuss training and recruitment needs.
• Advise employers on Apprenticeship Levy and funding reforms.
• Conduct needs analyses and design training plans to meet employer needs.
• Monitor market competition and identify new opportunities.
• Cross-sell other products to provide a well-rounded service.

Job Title:Business Development Manager–Apprenticeships

Location:Home/Field based – Must be flexible with travel

Salary:£40,000 + £10k OTE
Type:Full-time, Permanent

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Grade 1 Ofsted-rated Training Organisation, with over 30 years’ experience of delivering high-quality apprenticeships and vocational training.

Due to continued growth and ambitious expansion plans, we are seeking experienced Business Development Managers to join their high-performing team.

Essential Criteria:

• The successful Business Development Manager will have proven experience of developing new business with SME’s and Levy employers for Apprenticeship starts, or Commercial training (ideally within Business Services or Early Years).
• Strong CV that shows longevity as a BDM within the apprenticeship / skills arena
• Exceptional communication skills, with the desire and drive to succeed.
• Strong understanding of Apprenticeships funding criteria and Levy spending.
• Proven experience of generating own employer leads, negotiating / winning, and closing new business.
• Experience of working towards and achieving targets.

The Role:

• Proactively identify and engage with businesses, topromote our client’s offering of Apprenticeship and Commercial training programmes.
• Working in a consultative way, to create new business and develop existing business relationships.
• Working towards and achieving targets linked to growth and revenue.
• Attend meetings with decision makers to discuss their training and recruitment needs.
• Give advice and support to employers regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and future funding reforms.
• Undertake Organisational Needs Analysis and design / develop training plans to meet employer’s needs.
• Keep up to date with competitor’s strengths and weaknesses, evaluating the market and scoping out new opportunities.
• Report sales data and forecasts on a regular basis and meet month end sales deadlines.
• Cross sell other products, seizing all opportunities to offer clients a well-rounded service.
