Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, a core part of Babcock International Group, is recruiting a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the UK nuclear sector. You will identify opportunities, develop pipelines, and lead bids to strengthen market position and secure major contracts, while collaborating with internal teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience securing business opportunities within the nuclear or defence sectors.
• Strong network of customer contacts across relevant industry markets.
• Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and negotiate successfully.
• Experience developing and managing opportunity pipelines, bids and capture plans.
• Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of contracts, risk and project delivery.

• Leading the planning and preparation of major opportunities, working collaboratively with internal teams to develop competitive solutions.
• Maintaining account plans, monitoring market activity and providing regular updates on opportunities, risks and business performance.
• Supporting bid activities and acting as the link between customers and the wider business to secure new work and protect existing revenue.

The role

As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the future growth of Cavendish Nuclear. Working at the forefront of the business, you'll identify, develop and secure strategic opportunities that strengthen our market position, grow our order book and support some of the most important projects in the UK's nuclear sector.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

• Building relationships with customers, partners and key stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and strengthen existing accounts.
• Developing and managing a pipeline of future opportunities, converting early engagement into successful contract awards.
• Leading the planning and preparation of major opportunities, working collaboratively with internal teams to develop competitive solutions.

This is a full-time role based at any of our main UK locations: Bristol, Newbury, Leicester, Warrington with hybrid working arrangements. Travel to internal and external customer sites will be expected as required.

Essential experience of the Business Development Manager:

• Proven experience securing business opportunities within the nuclear or defence sectors.

• Experience developing and managing opportunity pipelines, bids and capture plans.
