Business Development Manager – FMCG / Food & Beverage
About the Role
We are hiring a Business Development Manager in London to drive offline sales across retail, wholesale and HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant & Café) channels.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused sales role suited to someone who is ambitious, entrepreneurial and excited by the opportunity to help build and grow a consumer brand in the UK market.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Expansion — Identify and onboard new retail, wholesale, independent stores, specialist food retailers, dessert shops and HoReCa partners across London and the wider UK.
- Sales Growth — Deliver monthly and quarterly revenue targets through structured prospecting, outreach and relationship building.
- Channel Development — Develop distribution across independent retail, premium grocers, specialist food channels and foodservice.
- Account Management — Manage key accounts, drive repeat orders, maintain strong relationships and ensure product availability.
- Brand Activation — Support sampling campaigns, in-store promotions and local marketing initiatives to increase awareness and sales.
- Competitor Tracking — Monitor competitor pricing, product assortment, promotions and category trends across both offline and online channels.
- Commercial Insight — Provide market feedback and recommendations to leadership around product launches, pricing, customer opportunities and channel strategy.
Candidate Profile
- 4–7 years' experience in business development or sales within FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods, specialist foods or a related sector.
- Strong understanding of the UK retail and HoReCa landscape, particularly across London.
- Proven ability to open new accounts, develop commercial relationships and deliver against sales targets.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, digital dashboards and performance data to manage activity and track results.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling business.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine interest in food, consumer brands and developing new routes to market would be advantageous.
