Business Development Manager - Transport Platforms and Materials Hoists

Hadley Marriot are working with a global manufacturer of Transport Platforms, Machines and Hoists, trusted by Tier 1 construction firms for delivering exceptional products and service across decades. With over 150 employees in the UK and a business that’s both cash-positive and strategically expanding, the company offer a place where people really thrive.

The division is in a very cash positive position and targeted to quadruple its revenue in the next 4 years through both acquisition and organic growth.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a driven Business Development Manager to help spearhead new customer acquisition and build out our client base across the construction sector.

This isn’t just about sales – it’s about combining commercial know-how with the ability to speak confidently about technically robust, market-leading products, including mast climbers, material hoists, and goods lifts.

You'll play a key role in driving awareness, creating opportunities, and securing new business with major contractors and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a new business strategy focused on the UK construction sector
  • Generate leads through proactive outbound activity, LinkedIn campaigns, event networking, and relationship-building
  • Use technical insight to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly
  • Manage the sales process from initial contact through to contract negotiation and close
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and site leaders
  • Collaborate closely with product development, service and project delivery teams
  • Regular reporting to divisional leadership on pipeline and progress

What We’re Looking For

  • A proven new business hunter with strong commercial instincts
  • Comfortable managing and interpreting contracts (or has had some experience putting them together)
  • Confident, adaptable and capable of translating technical product features into commercial benefits
  • Ideally comes from, or is familiar with, the construction or industrial access equipment industry
  • Based in the North of the M25 or M40, and happy with 2–3 days per week in the field
  • Comfortable using both modern digital tools (e.g. LinkedIn) and traditional sales methods
