TERRITORY COVERED: EAST ENGLAND

Overview of Role:

This is a field-based position serving as a key connection between the company and its customers. You will be responsible for the performance and sales of a set of independent customers and managing the day-to-day relationship. This involves in-person store visits and phone contact, including selling and demonstrating new products, identifying gaps and opportunities, selling promotions, taking orders, and handling other relationship aspects. The role covers extensive travel throughout the region, typically 5 days per week, with multiple customer calls per day. Additionally, you will find new business opportunities and onboard new customers, ensuring a seamless transition with accurate details.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers within the territory to generate new business.
  2. Conduct in-person visits and presentations to customers.
  3. Research sources for developing prospective customers and assessing their potential.
  4. Develop clear proposals and quotations for customers.
  5. Resolve customer problems and complaints promptly.
  6. Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, sales management, and logistics teams.
  7. Analyze territory potential and evaluate customer value.
  8. Create and manage customer plans for existing clients.
  9. Identify competitor products and analyze their advantages and disadvantages.
  10. Plan and organize personal sales strategies to maximize time and effectiveness.
  11. Provide management with reports on customer needs, issues, competitive activities, and new product opportunities.
  12. Support customers through open days and events to promote the company's profile and products.
  13. Stay informed about market conditions, competitors, and promotional trends.
  14. Participate in trade shows and company events to strengthen team relationships.
Candidate Requirements:

Experience in the Pet Food sector is desirable but applications from the Food sector will also be considered. Candidates should have experience in customer-facing sales, new business development, and generating new business. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly are essential. A high level of self-motivation and a positive attitude are required. Candidates must hold a valid UK Driving Licence.

Benefits & Pay:
  • Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
