365 People are recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing transport and logistics business based in the West Midlands.
This is a genuine new-business sales position with a clear focus on winning new B2B customers, generating revenue and developing new accounts into long-term, recurring business.
We're looking for somebody who already understands the transport and logistics sector and can demonstrate a successful track record of identifying opportunities, opening doors and converting prospects into paying customers.
This is not a traditional account management role. We need somebody who can create and develop their own pipeline and confidently demonstrate:
"I identified the opportunity, won the customer and generated the revenue."
You’ll be responsible for developing new business across the UK, targeting SMEs through to larger corporate customers.
You’ll need proven new-business sales experience within transport or logistics.
You’ll need to demonstrate a genuine track record of personally winning new customers, including examples of accounts or contracts you’ve secured and the revenue you’ve generated.
You’ll also need strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of transport pricing, margins and profitability, alongside the confidence to prospect from cold and negotiate with senior decision-makers.
Experience working for a recognised same-day, courier, freight or transport operator would be particularly advantageous.
£40,000+ basic salary, depending on experience, with an attractive commission structure based on performance.
The position offers remote/field-based working, ideally for somebody based in Birmingham or the wider West Midlands, with business travel expenses reimbursed.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established transport sales professional to join a growing operation where you’ll have genuine autonomy and the opportunity to play a major part in its commercial growth.
If you know the transport market, can open doors and have the figures to demonstrate what you’ve personally won, we’d like to hear from you.
