Job Description:

Due to company growth, an exciting and brand-new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing and highly successful energy and data organisation.

The role is fully remote, with attendance at Head Office in Surrey approximately once a month. The geographical focus is nationwide within the UK, selling EV charge points, solar, and decarbonisation technologies to businesses and developing partnerships.

The role involves a 50/50 split between generating new sales and approaching existing customers from a warm database. The ideal candidate is a true sales professional with proven business development experience, a confident and friendly approach, and enjoys building relationships. You will be targeted, attending one face-to-face customer meeting per week and about four Teams meetings weekly.

The emphasis is on quality meetings rather than call volume. You will generate leads, identify, engage, and secure new business, then pass clients to a dedicated Account Manager for smooth handover.

You will work to KPIs, report results, and provide market research insights. While accountable for your work, teamwork and sharing ideas are strongly encouraged.

Skills, experience, and attributes required:

  • 2-5 years’ solid experience as a Business Development Manager
  • Experience in face-to-face B2B sales is essential
  • Degree educated preferred
  • Car driver preferred
  • Experience in EV charging or solar power sales is highly desirable
  • Knowledge or passion for EV charging is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint
  • Experience in lead generation, tracking, and closing deals
  • Inquisitive with strong fact-finding skills
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Modern, dynamic sales approach using various technologies
  • Friendly, approachable, vivacious personality
  • Consultative sales approach with strong sales acumen
