Job Description:

Due to company growth, an exciting and brand-new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a fast-growing and highly successful energy and data organisation.

The role will be fully remote, but you will be required to attend Head Office in Surrey approximately once a month. The geographical area will be national within the UK, and you will be responsible for selling EV charge points, solar, and decarbonisation technologies to businesses, developing partnerships.

The role involves a 50/50 split between new sales and approaching existing customers from a warm database. We seek a true sales professional with proven business development experience, a confident and friendly approach, and a passion for building relationships. You will be targeted and expected to attend one face-to-face customer meeting per week and approximately four Teams meetings.

The focus is on securing quality meetings with customers rather than the number of calls made.

You will generate leads, identify, engage, and secure new business, and close deals before passing clients to a dedicated Account Manager for a smooth handover.

Working to KPIs, you should have a flexible approach, be comfortable with reporting results, and providing market research insights. While accountable for your work, teamwork is emphasized, with sharing ideas, knowledge, and experience encouraged.

Skills, experience, and attributes required:
  • 2-5 years’ solid experience as a Business Development Manager
  • Experience of face-to-face B2B sales is essential
  • Degree education is preferred
  • A valid driver’s license is ideally required
  • Experience in EV charging point or solar power sales is highly desirable
  • A passion or knowledge about EV charging is a plus
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint for presentations
  • Experience in lead generation, tracking, and closing deals
  • Inquisitive with strong fact-finding skills
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Modern, dynamic approach to selling and presenting using various technologies
  • Vivacious, friendly, and approachable personality
  • Consultative sales approach with strong sales acumen
