Job summary

CPM Limited is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our Diageo off-trade team, covering a broad Midlands territory and working with major retailers to maximise in-store opportunities and brand visibility.

The role rewards a target-driven salesperson with strong relationship skills, willingness to travel, a full UK driving licence, and training to promote premium brands such as Smirnoff, Guinness, and Gordon’s.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Previous retail experience is ideal, but full training will be provided.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills to influence store managers.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out face-to-face visits into off-trade retailers on your territory.
• Advising key stakeholders on promotions and increasing awareness of the full product range.
• Using data to check stock levels and resolve potential problems.
• Ensuring agreed shelf space and displays are in place to maximise sales.
• Drawing up bespoke business plans and making recommendations to store managers.
• Reporting during and after calls on the provided tablet with competitor information.

Fantastic Business Development Executive opportunity in your area – working for CPM representing Diageo and its products in the off-trade retail sector. Salary: up to £28,500 per annum plus up to £3,000 bonus & company car.

Territory covering: Alfreton, Bedworth, Burton upon Trent, Coalville, Coventry, Derby, Grantham, Heanor, Hinckley, Ilkeston, Leicester, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Newark-on-Trent, Nottingham, Nuneaton, Rugby, Royal Leamington Spa, Swadlincote, Wigston and surrounding areas

Working for CPM as a Business Development Executive you will be a part of our Diageo off-trade team, calling into Grocery multiples such as ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury's, and Morrisons. Your aim is to increase awareness of Diageo’s innovative brands and ensure that opportunities to promote these brands have been maximized.

Whilst this is a sales executive role, all the stores will already stock some or all the brands, so your persuasive and relationship-building skills will be key to ensuring that all in-store opportunities have been put in place and ensuring all stores on your territory fulfil their potential.

As a Sales Executive for CPM, the brands you will work with include:

Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Guinness, Captain Morgan’s, Baileys, Johnnie Walker, and Tanqueray.

A typical day for a Business Development Executive will include:

• Carrying out face-to-face visits into off-trade multiple retailers on your territory.
• Advising key stakeholders on promotions and increasing awareness of the whole product range and, in turn increasing sales.
• Using the great data provided to check stock levels and resolve any potential problems.
• Ensuring the agreed shelf space and displays are in place to maximize sales.
• Using your local market and sector knowledge to draw up bespoke business plans and make informed recommendations to store managers.
• Reporting during and after each call on the tablet provided, sharing invaluable competitor information with the business and your achievements in call too.
