Job Description:

An opportunity for a Business Development Director to work in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector to lead and grow a portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Drive one major TMT business, alongside other accounts, to accelerate growth through relationship building, opportunity origination, and proposal development, aiming to win profitable revenue across all non-audit service lines.
  • Develop your own network and relationships at the client, originate single service line opportunities, and work with Partners on cross-service line solutions for multi-year, multi-£million programs.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sector Lead for TMT, Global Lead Partner, and Client Lead Partner to develop account strategy and optimize opportunities.
  • Lead relationship strategies, develop client relationships, identify gaps, and build strategies to strengthen relationships.
  • Manage senior procurement relationships, lead negotiations, and support fee and terms agreement.
  • Understand client priorities and sector trends to identify strategic opportunities and sales leads, supporting proposal development.
  • Articulate KPMG’s advisory offerings and value proposition effectively.
  • Work with the CLP to set account strategy and drive client service teams.
  • Build market awareness for KPMG solutions through client and market activities.
  • Foster collaboration across KPMG service offerings and member firms to generate opportunities.
  • Support sales and marketing activities tailored to clients, and participate in events.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the account and sector, sharing best practices and intelligence.
  • Act as a sales leader, coaching colleagues to enhance their sales skills.
Client relationships:
  • Spend time at client sites and in meetings to facilitate relationship development.
  • Gather and share information on client issues and expand points of contact.
  • Lead development of relationships, including with senior management and Board members.
  • Coordinate client events and measure ROI through relationship metrics.
  • Model professional business development behaviors and leverage KPMG’s sales support.
  • Identify white space and develop plans to target new opportunities.
  • Increase sales conversion through rigorous sales processes, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Ensure all sales activities align with KPMG’s account plans and processes.
  • Lead selling of new propositions and drive specific sector topics.
  • Seek opportunities to add value through cross-functional solutions.
  • Maintain opportunity management systems and provide coaching to teams.
Key Measures:
  • Performance metrics include net sales, pipeline, new relationships, and client feedback.
  • Assess collaboration, influence, and market presence.
  • Evaluate ability to deliver insightful, client-focused solutions and build senior-level relationships.
