Job Description:

An opportunity for a Business Development Director to work in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector to lead and grow a portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Drive one major TMT business, alongside other accounts, to accelerate growth through relationship building, opportunity origination, and proposal development, aiming to win profitable revenue across all non-audit service lines at KPMG.
  • Develop your network and relationships at the client, understand their issues, and work with Partners to develop cross-service solutions leading to multi-year, multi-million-pound programs for KPMG.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sector Lead for TMT and the Global/Client Lead Partner to develop account strategies and optimize opportunities.
  • Lead relationship strategies, develop relationships with clients, identify gaps, and develop plans to build relationships.
  • Manage senior procurement relationships, lead negotiations, and support in fee and T&C agreements.
  • Understand client priorities and sector trends to identify strategic opportunities and support proposal development.
  • Articulate KPMG’s advisory offerings and the value proposition effectively.
  • Support the setting of account strategy and drive the client service teams.
  • Build market awareness for KPMG solutions through client and market activities.
  • Drive collaboration across KPMG service offerings and member firms to generate opportunities.
  • Support sales and marketing activities, tailoring approaches to clients and engaging in events.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the account and sector, sharing best practices and intelligence.
  • Act as a sales leader, coaching colleagues and enhancing sales skills.
Client Relationships:
  • Spend time on-site or in meetings with clients, in person and virtually.
  • Gather and share information on client issues and sector developments.
  • Expand points of contact and develop relationship maps and plans.
  • Lead relationship development and support connections for winning work.
  • Build peer relationships with senior management and develop Board and ExCo relationships.
  • Coordinate client events and measure ROI through relationship enhancement.
  • Role model business development behaviors and leverage KPMG’s sales support.
  • Focus on current issues, communicate solutions, and develop propositions.
  • Identify white space and develop targeted plans.
  • Increase sales conversion through rigorous processes, pricing, and negotiation.
  • Ensure activities align with account plans and client meetings.
  • Act as a focal point for selling new propositions and cross-functional solutions.
  • Seek opportunities to add value through integrated solutions.
  • Maintain opportunity management systems and provide coaching to teams.
Key Measures:
  • Net sales, pipeline, new relationships, and account growth metrics.
  • Client and colleague feedback, social media presence, and external profile.
  • Ability to interact confidently at senior levels and deliver insightful, impactful advice.
