Job Description:

An opportunity for a Business Development Director to work in the Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector to lead and grow a portfolio.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drive one major TMT business, alongside other accounts, to accelerate growth by creating relationships, originating and qualifying opportunities, and leading proposals and bids to win revenue across all non-audit service lines.
  • Develop your own network and client relationships, understand their issues, and work with Partners to develop cross-service line solutions for multi-year, multi-million-pound programs.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sector Lead for TMT and the Global and Client Lead Partners on your accounts, supporting account strategy and opportunity optimization.
  • Lead relationship strategies, develop relationships with clients, and identify gaps and strategies to build new relationships.
  • Manage senior procurement relationships, lead negotiations, and support project teams in fee and T&Cs agreements.
  • Deepen understanding of client priorities and sector trends to identify strategic opportunities and sales leads, supporting proposal development.
  • Understand and articulate KPMG’s advisory offerings and the value proposition to clients.
  • Support the development of account strategy and drive the client service teams.
  • Build market awareness for KPMG solutions through client and market activities.
  • Promote collaboration across KPMG services and member firms to generate and respond to opportunities.
  • Support sales and marketing activities, tailoring approaches to clients and engaging in events.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the account and sector, sharing best practices and intelligence.
  • Act as a sales leader, coaching colleagues and leveraging sales opportunities.

Client relationships:

  • Spend time at client sites and in meetings, both in person and virtually.
  • Gather and share information on client issues and sector developments.
  • Expand client contact points, develop relationship maps, and support connections to win work.
  • Lead relationship development with new clients and support existing relationships at senior levels.
  • Coordinate client relationship events and measure ROI.
  • Model professional development in sales behaviors and leverage KPMG’s sales support.
  • Focus on current issues, develop propositions, and identify white space opportunities.
  • Enhance sales conversion through rigorous processes, pricing, and negotiations.
  • Ensure all sales activities align with the account plan and internal processes.
  • Act as a point for selling new propositions and drive sector-specific topics.
  • Seek opportunities for value addition through cross-functional solutions.
  • Maintain opportunity management systems and provide coaching to teams.
