Business Development Associate

Metalchemy leads in green nanotechnology, specialising in our patented process for creating gold and silver nanoparticles. Our innovation fuels sustainable solutions across sectors such as food preservation, healthcare, and cosmetics. Our goal is to turn scientific breakthroughs into commercial successes that address global challenges.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a driven Business Development Associate to help expand Metalchemy’s market presence and accelerate growth. In this role, you’ll drive business development initiatives, source new partnerships, and craft digital marketing strategies to build a pipeline of prospects and clients. You will collaborate with the team to deliver high-impact marketing content, manage social media, and explore R&D funding opportunities. Join us to play a key role in advancing Metalchemy’s mission.

Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development & Sales Generation: Identify and generate new sales leads via direct outbound sales, inbound inquiries, and digital channels. Leverage social presence and events to build relationships and create business opportunities.
  2. Digital Marketing & Content Creation: Develop and execute targeted marketing strategies through social media, website management, and content creation (presentations, reports, newsletters, social media). Drive brand visibility and customer engagement.
  3. Grant Writing & Funding Sourcing: Identify and pursue grants and R&D funding opportunities. Assist in preparing proposals to secure external funding for innovative projects.
  4. CRM & Client Relationship Management: Manage client relationships using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) and lead generation tools to nurture prospects and ensure successful partnerships.
  5. Press, Event Promotion & Exhibition Management: Source, organise, and promote events, exhibitions, and conferences to increase Metalchemy’s visibility. Work with press contacts to draft and distribute press releases, ensuring coverage and engagement for Metalchemy’s innovations at key industry events.
  6. Reporting & Communication: Present progress and achievements through reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, contributing to sustained interest in Metalchemy’s products and innovations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Science Related Subject (Chemistry, Engineering) or Business, Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design or a related field. An MBA or master’s in Digital Marketing is a plus.
  2. Science Related Background is recommended, such as a BSc.
  3. 2 year business experience is recommended in relevant field.
  4. Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and digital marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Squarespace, Shopify, Apollo).
  5. Strong digital marketing and content creation skills, with experience in lead generation and social media management.
  6. Excellent communication, project management, and budgeting skills, with a strong growth mindset.
  7. Experience with data analysis and reporting, using tools like Python and Excel.

What We Offer:

  1. Base salary of £25k - £30k to be pro-rata for part-time (4 days/week) with potential to transition to full-time based on performance.
  2. 4 days part time to start with, with opportunities to become full time based on performance.
