Coventry Building Society is seeking a Business Development Advisor for Intermediary Development. This full-time role (35 hours) is hybrid, with at least 2 days per week in our Coventry office.

You will engage with Mortgage Professionals, Brokers and Intermediaries, delivering exceptional service by phone and web chat and growing knowledge of lending policies. You will learn to handle a range of policy questions, provide guidance, and reflect our commitment to a high-quality customer experience

About the role

We are looking for a chatty and engaging individual to join our friendly Mortgage Intermediary Development telephone team as a Business Development Advisor, working full-time (35 hours per week).

In the role our customers are Mortgage Professionals, Brokers and Intermediaries and as a Business Development Advisor talking to them and being the voice of Coventry Building Society, is the main focus. It’s really about having great conversations (no scripts), being customer focused with a passion for providing exceptional service.

Dealing with a diverse range of people, this role is all about delivering exceptional service over the phone and through web chat, understanding their needs, dealing with queries, and helping them find a resolution are key parts of the role. With a strong focus on growing knowledge of a wide variety of mortgage policies, processes and products to deal with the various enquiries, provide guidance and support as well as making in the moment decisions.

Our Business Development Advisors also support brokers with Co-operative Bank lending policy and process enquiries, so the ability to learn and retain an array of information is essential.

We have a clear passion to deliver an exceptional telephone service and achieve quality goals and measures, but this isn't a sales based role!

About you

For this role you’ll like talking to lots of different people and will be used to working in fast paced environment. You'll need to be accurate and keen to learn so you're able to deal with our customer’s enquiries. Coping with pressures and problem solving will be a parts of the role so you’ll be a professional and committed person with a flexible, team focused approach.

To be successful in this role its essential you have:

• Are already in a customer service focused role, providing a great service in a busy environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to talk to lots of different people
• Have experience of handling challenging and/or complex customers’ enquiries.
• Have the ability to learn and retain knowledge across a range of policies and procedures

Desirable experience will include:

• Experience of working in a telephone environment
• Mortgage or a business to business experience

£150,000 to £190,000 (+ CA) per annum + EL level benefits package
