Job summary

Bank of Ireland is seeking a Senior Business Manager to promote the brand in the marketplace and drive new business opportunities. You will support credit‑heavy SME transactions while maintaining high service standards and managing risk, with strong engagement with intermediaries and partners in Northern Ireland.

The role is hybrid, based in Magherafelt, with regular in-person collaboration and external networking to grow market share and strengthen relationships within the regional business

What is the opportunity?

In this role you will assist the Senior Business Manager to promote the Bank of Ireland brand in the marketplace, driving new business opportunities and ensuring high standards of customer service for the existing portfolio. This is also an exciting opportunity to network extensively and attend external events, developing/maintaining the Bank's relationship with intermediaries and business partners!

In This Role, You Will
  • Proven experience of Business Banking with ability to lead high value, complex business transactions
  • Ability to find opportunities and engage with customers, building mutually beneficial relationships, identifying short and long term business opportunities, with shown success in developing increased market share.
  • Evidence of a collaborative approach in working with other front line teams and key partners in the achievement of business strategic objectives
  • Confirmed experience in credit management, regulatory and operational risk and consistent track record in maintaining high standards
  • Strong business insight, achieving results safely and growing the Bank's markets share and profile in a positive manner and demonstrating broad commercial knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of the NI business market and a wide network of personal contacts within the regional business community.
What will make you stand out?
  • Previous experience of running a portfolio of complex, high value SME and Property customers
  • Ability to develop new business and fund complex, high value lending transactions
  • Proven experience in credit management, regulatory and operational risk and consistent track record in maintaining high standards in these areas across a portfolio of complex, high value SME and Property customers.

Business Banking Growth NI is a key part of the NI Franchise and is responsible for profitability, growing our share of and return from the business market by providing a comprehensive range of business products and excellent customer service in businesses across NI through dedicated business banking teams.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at Magherafelt. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.
