Job Description: Business Analyst - Trading

As a Business Analyst, you will support front office traders, risk managers, and other business users with their tools and applications. Your role involves supporting existing systems and driving tactical and strategic improvements across the front and middle office trade lifecycle.

You will join the London Front Office Support team in a hybrid capacity, working alongside another BA within the D&A Delivery Vertical for Trading-IT.

What you’ll do

Provide technical support for various IT systems and applications, resolve technical issues, and support users. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs, document requirements, and translate these into technical specifications. Your responsibilities include:

• Working with large datasets, developing analytical models, and creating reports or dashboards using SQL, Excel, PowerBI, or Tableau.
• Identifying process improvements and efficiency gains within front office operations, proposing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce risks, or optimize trading strategies.
• Coordinating with stakeholders and delivery leads to prioritize work in accordance with stakeholder agreements.

What you’ll bring to the role

Strong knowledge of European Gas and Power Markets, familiarity with Gas Storage and LNG Deal Lifecycle. Additionally, you should have:

• Ability to make timely decisions for efficient change mobilization.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, charting, pivoting, and data imports.
• Strong SQL skills, understanding relational databases, joins, conditions, and aggregate functions.
• Effective requirement elicitation and articulation skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and negotiate in high-pressure environments.
• Degree in a numerate or computing-related subject or equivalent experience.
