Job summary

Cognizant in London is seeking a Business Analyst who can work independently on initiatives within the Energy, Water & Utilities sector, leading requirements activities and engaging directly with stakeholders to support delivery across transformation programmes.

You will translate business needs into clear requirements across customer, asset, market and enterprise platforms, with a focus on regulatory and data considerations in the UK energy and water sectors.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of Business Analysis experience.
• Experience working independently with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in Energy & Utilities, including water and wastewater, or another asset-intensive regulated industry.
• BA certification (CBAP, Agile BA) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end requirements gathering across business and technology teams.
• Produce detailed business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform gap analysis across current state and future state processes.
• Map and analyse Energy, Water and Utilities processes and regulatory risks.
• Support design of future state processes aligned to transformation goals.
• Apply knowledge of UK energy, water and wastewater operating models and regulatory frameworks.
• Collaborate with data, product, engineering, and vendor teams on system changes.
• Support data analysis and reporting across asset, customer, meter, telemetry, and regulatory datasets.
• Support UAT planning, execution, and defect triage.
• Facilitate workshops and provide clear status updates, risks, and recommendations.
