Job Description:

Finance Consolidation Business Analyst - Hybrid Working - Outside IR35

Our client, a global insurance company, is currently looking to hire a Business Analyst with experience in Finance Consolidation projects to join the team on a hybrid working contract basis, with the client site based in London.

Systems Experience:

  • OneStream
  • CCH Tagetik

This role operates within the Finance Change Team and is crucial for redeveloping the OneStream Architecture, leveraging the capabilities of the OneStream MI solution, facilitating and writing requirements, acceptance criteria, and validating solution implementation. The project adopts a hybrid agile delivery model by a third party, and the role will manage the product backlog and facilitate UAT and Business Acceptance testing phases.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Facilitate and write requirements and acceptance criteria for Epics and Stories.
  • Ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are approved by stakeholders.
  • Review proposed solution designs to ensure they meet requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Support formulation and acceptance of key design decisions.
  • Validate implementation across sprint reviews and testing phases, providing feedback and raising bugs, and capturing test cases and evidence.
  • Facilitate Data Reconciliation.
  • Support and facilitate product backlog review, prioritization, and sizing sessions with the business and implementation team.
  • Manage and refine the product backlog to reflect current priorities.
  • Support the formulation of Change Requests (CRs) and provide impact assessments, cost-benefit analysis, and recommendations.
  • Conduct and facilitate defect triage to ensure bugs and feedback are correctly identified and prioritized.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of project governance and lifecycle.
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good numerical skills and familiarity with finance IT platforms.
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements, including statutory, management, or financial planning.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with third-party consultants on financial models.
  • Pragmatism and diplomacy skills.
  • Expertise in requirements, Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria documentation.
  • Experience managing agile product backlogs in Scrum.
  • Knowledge of process and requirements modeling.
  • Data modeling of financial data and CUBE/Star Schema.
  • Data analysis and reconciliation skills.
  • Defect triage and bug prioritization.
  • Experience with financial modeling and statutory reporting platforms.

Additional Experience

  • 7+ years in finance software implementation and MI requirements delivery.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and EPM solutions.
  • 5+ years in a global business environment.
  • 5+ years working in Agile Scrum as a Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Experience with OneStream is beneficial.
  • Experience extracting and analyzing data from financial systems.
