Description

Partner with the Product Manager to refine and communicate requirements to the development team. Break down complex financial planning concepts into clear, developer-friendly specifications. Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for each area of the application, ensuring they are clear, concise, and implementable.

Collaborate with developers, designers, and QA to ensure requirements are understood, testable, and aligned with business goals. Create technical schematics and documentation (e.g., data flows, entity diagrams, user flows, calculations). Create requirements for relationships between entities involving complex calculations, such as income tax, investment return, and insurance needs analysis.

Analyze proof-of-concept Excel models and translate their logic into a code-first system. Validate feature implementation against technical and business requirements, ensuring usability and purpose alignment. Stay informed on UK financial planning regulations and ensure requirements reflect market standards. Contribute to UX/UI design discussions with a focus on usability and logical flow.

Required Skills

• 2/3 years of experience in the role
• A degree or equivalent in a finance-related field
• Technical Acumen: Ability to translate financial models into structured, developer-ready requirements; familiarity with APIs and web app architecture
• Analytical Thinking: Skilled at dissecting complex financial calculations and workflows into clear specifications
• Communication: Effective communicator across technical and non-technical audiences; tailors depth of detail appropriately
• Tools Proficiency: Comfortable with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio/Lucidchart, and collaborative diagramming platforms
• Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of financial planning practices, particularly in the UK, with adaptability to new markets
• Agile Collaboration: Experienced in working within agile teams, managing user stories, priorities, and iterative feedback cycles
• Financial work experience within a financial services organization is a plus
• IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills is a plus
• Willing to travel when required is a plus
