Job Description

Are you a detail-driven Business Analyst with experience in higher education systems and transformation projects? A leading UK university is undergoing a major digital transformation and is looking for an enthusiastic Business Analyst to join their remote team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the implementation of a modern Student Information System (SIS), working within a supportive project environment and engaging with a range of academic and operational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support gap analysis and process redesign through stakeholder meetings and workshops
2. Document current (‘as-is’) and future (‘to-be’) business processes
3. Capture project benefits and support creation of training and communication materials
4. Collaborate with Business Architects to propose suitable design solutions
5. Produce clear, detailed Functional Design Specifications and business process models
6. Support User Acceptance Testing and change request tracking
7. Provide progress updates to the Project Manager and contribute to planning activities
8. Build a strong understanding of the business and promote user engagement
9. Assist with internal training, documentation, and user support

Skills & Experience

Essential:

1. Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in business analysis for complex systems, ideally in HE or public sector
3. Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or experience in a university transformation project
4. Proven ability to produce business models, FDS documents, and UAT scripts
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Visio
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills
7. Strong business process mapping and documentation abilities

Desirable:

1. ISEB Business Analyst Diploma or equivalent
2. Experience working in Admissions, Assessments, or Registry teams
3. Exposure to project management and training delivery
4. Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or TQM approaches
