Job summary

Cathcart Technology is seeking an experienced Contract Business Analyst to join a large organisation on a Finance-focused transformation programme in Liverpool. The role is a 6-month initial contract, onsite 3 days per week in Liverpool, paying £400 per day Outside IR35, with extension potential.

You will lead requirements elicitation, document functional and non-functional needs, facilitate workshops, and collaborate with agile and waterfall delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Strong BA experience across diverse business and tech projects.
• Experience in Finance ERP implementations.
• Ability to document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Proven workshop facilitation and stakeholder interviewing skills.
• Experience in both Agile and Waterfall delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support a Finance-focused transformation programme.
• Act as an all-round BA across stakeholders, analysis and delivery.
• Analyse and improve business processes and operating models.

Requirements

• Strong Business Analysis experience across a variety of business and technology projects.
• Excellent business process mapping, process improvement, and operating model design skills.
• Proven ability to elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements gathering sessions.
• Strong gap analysis, impact assessment, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear, structured requirements for technical and delivery teams.
• Experience supporting testing, change management, training, and business readiness activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
• Comfortable working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
• Experience working on Finance ERP implementations is essential.
