Job summary

GlobalData Healthcare is building an AI-enabled competitive intelligence platform for the pharmaceutical sector. Based in Birmingham, you will translate business needs into clear requirements, support adoption of the platform, and lead the business case and commercial work around it.

You’ll work closely with pharma consulting teams and development, ensuring effective communication and documentation across teams to deliver value and stakeholder confidence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a business analyst on software or data products.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills, including cost/benefit modelling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for both technical and business audiences.
• Well organised with ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Map current business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support prioritisation and manage the product backlog.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, onboarding and supporting documentation.
• Develop and maintain business cases, including cost/benefit analysis and value tracking.

The role…

GlobalData Healthcare is building an AI-enabled competitive intelligence platform for the pharmaceutical market. It supports our consulting teams in tracking competitor drugs, clinical trials, regulatory decisions and market news for pharma clients, combining GlobalData's data, continuous monitoring of external sources, AI-assisted analysis and the expertise of our consultants. The platform runs on AWS, with a Python and PostgreSQL back end and a React front end. We are forming a small Birmingham-based team to develop and run it.

You will be the link between our pharma consulting teams, the wider business and the development team: turning business needs into clear requirements, supporting teams as they adopt the platform, and leading the business case and commercial work around it.

What you’ll be doing…

• Gather and document requirements, and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Develop and maintain business cases, including cost/benefit analysis and value tracking.

What we’re looking for…

Essential

• At least 2 years' experience as a business analyst on software or data products.

• Strong analytical and Excel skills, including building financial or cost/benefit models.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with both technical and business audiences.

• Well organised, able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

Desirable

• Background in pharma, life sciences or consulting.

• Understanding of APIs and data integration.

• Experience with AI or data products.

• Basic SQL, and experience with tools such as Jira.
