Business Account Manager | East Midlands
We are supporting a well-established organisation with the appointment of a Business Account Manager to join its growing commercial team.
This is a commercially focused account management opportunity, responsible for managing and developing an established portfolio of B2B customers, protecting strong retention levels and identifying opportunities to grow revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
The role will also provide line management responsibility for a small team, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Account Manager with existing people-management experience, or a Senior Account Manager ready to take the next step.
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of approximately 60–100 customer accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring customers continue to receive value from the services available to them.
The primary focus will be account retention and growth, with approximately 75% of the role centred around existing customer relationships. You'll also identify opportunities to introduce additional services and develop revenue within the account base.
You'll also manage and support a small team of three, helping to maintain strong renewal performance while developing the team's commercial and customer-management capabilities.
We're looking for an experienced B2B Account Manager, Key Account Manager or Senior Account Manager with strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to grow customer relationships and revenue.
You’ll ideally have:
Industry experience is not essential. We're open to candidates from technical B2B sales, consultative sales or other environments where they have needed to understand and communicate complex products or services.
This isn’t a purely reactive account-management role.
We’re looking for someone who can protect existing relationships while actively looking for ways to grow them.
You’ll need to be commercially curious, confident speaking with customers about their wider needs and comfortable identifying opportunities to introduce additional services.
For the right person, there is also the opportunity to develop into a broader commercial leadership role.
East Midlands
Due to the team-management responsibilities and the breadth of the product portfolio, this role requires someone within a realistic commuting distance of the Head Office.
The expectation is approximately four days per week in the office, particularly during the initial learning period, with flexibility around this depending on the individual and business requirements.
If you’re an experienced B2B Account Manager looking for a role where you can combine relationship management, commercial growth and people leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a confidential appointment. Further information about the organisation will be shared during the recruitment process.
