Job summary

Freshfields in London is seeking a talented Business Acceptance Lawyer/Advisor to join the Inhouse Legal Department. You will help navigate complex legal, regulatory, reputational and commercial risks as part of the global Business Acceptance team.

The role focuses on conflicts of interest, AML, and compliance with jurisdictional regulations such as the SRA Code of Conduct. You will provide advice, perform due diligence, and support policy development.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with experience advising on conflicts of interest, AML, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in an international law firm preferred.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on conflicts, AML, and broader risk issues across jurisdictions.
• Conduct analysis on conflicts of interest and ensure client confidentiality.
• Draft consent wording and establish information barriers.
• Carry out client and matter due diligence and reputational risk assessments.
• Monitor clients in line with CDD policies.
• Identify and assess sanctions risks.
• Support policy development and ensure compliant practices.
• Respond to queries on legislation, regulation, and firm policies.
• Deliver training and act as escalation point for analysts.
