Job summary

Stagecoach Group in Kilmarnock is seeking a hands-on Bus/PSV Mechanic for dayshift to maintain and repair our modern fleet to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards. You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, perform routine servicing, and support apprentices in a collaborative depot environment.

Training is provided, with opportunities for development as technology evolves. The role is based at MacKinlay Place, Kilmarnock, offering a competitive hourly rate and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
• A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail.
• A team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
• Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and occasional roadside repairs.
• Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience.
• Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team.
