Job summary

Redwing Recruitment Limited is seeking a Bus/HGV mechanic in the United Kingdom. The role offers an hourly rate of £32.05 and a shift pattern of seven early shifts, three days off, followed by seven late shifts and four days off. Applicants with Level 3 heavy vehicle qualifications and bus/HGV maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.

Physically capable and reliable candidates, including those returning to the trade, are welcome. PV license or willingness to learn is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance or above.
• Experience with servicing and maintaining buses, HGVs, trucks, or similar vehicles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge, plus electrical experience is desirable.
• Practical, problem-solving mindset.
• Able to carry out physical work safely.
• Organised and reliable; able to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
• Keep the fleet running smoothly to support our essential services

Bus / HGV Mechanics

Rate: £32.05 per hour

Shifts: The shift pattern will be 7 early shifts, 3 days off. Then 7 late shifts with 4 days off.

We welcome ex-military candidates and anyone who has left the trade and is considering a return to becoming a bus technician.

What you'll do:

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards
• Keep the fleet running smoothly to support our essential services
• You will work well on your own and be able to work in teams.

What I'm looking for:

• Level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance or above.
• Experience with servicing and maintaining Buses, HGVs, Trucks, or similar vehicles.
