Job summary

Stagecoach is hiring a Bus Depot Service Assistant (Cleaning & Refuelling) based at our Basingstoke depot on Rankine Road. The role is 40 hours per week, with a rolling 5-in-7 shift pattern, and a salary of circa £28,600 per annum.

You will fuel, oil, and drive fleet vehicles safely around the depot, clean interiors and exteriors, and help keep the site tidy and compliant with safety standards. Training, pension, holidays, and travel benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• PCV licence preferrable.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Positive attitude and pride in doing a job well.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to keeping things clean and safe.
• A team player who communicates clearly and supports others.

Responsibilities

• Fuelling and oiling our fleet of buses.
• Driving (shunting) vehicles safely around the depot and parking them correctly.
• Cleaning the interior and exterior of our vehicles, including deep cleans and under‑chassis washes using approved equipment.
• Keeping our premises tidy and hygienic, including washrooms.
• Carrying out vehicle changeovers, breakdown support, and collecting/delivering vehicles or parts when needed.
• Logging fuel and oil usage and completing daily checks on equipment.
• Supporting your team and contributing to a safe, efficient depot operation.
