Job summary

Mersey West Lancashire NHS Trust is seeking a Burns & Plastics Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for 37.5 hours per week at Whiston Hospital. The post is a fixed-term maternity cover until December 2027, with the JD/PS under AfC review. Applicants should obtain release from current manager before applying.

The role involves working in one of the UK’s largest units, across inpatient, outpatient and clinics, with opportunities for professional development within a dynamic MDT.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapist and HCPC registration are essential.
• Clinical Educators Certificate or equivalent postgraduate study is desirable.
• Postgraduate study such as MSc in health studies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care across rotary clinical areas.
• Work with inpatients, outpatients and clinics, across seven days.
• Support development of junior staff, supervision and appraisals as required.
• Demonstrate specialist clinical, interpersonal and communication skills within the MDT.
