Job summary

Burberry is hiring a Lead Inventory Accountant to join the Inventory Centre of Excellence. This role combines technical accounting expertise with people leadership and commercial insight to support informed business decisions across Finance, Retail and Supply Chain.

You will lead a team of accounting professionals, oversee inventory accounting activities, deliver budgeting and month-end reporting, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive efficiency and strong controls across global luxury

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience leading or developing finance teams.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accounting activities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls and compliance with standards.
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Retail and Supply Chain to provide financial insight and support decision-making.
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting across multiple inventory-related workstreams.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Personal Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).


• Proven experience leading or developing teams within a finance or accounting environment.


• Strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information.


• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and building effective working relationships across functions.


• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.


• Inventory accounting experience is advantageous; however, candidates with strong accounting and leadership experience from related areas are encouraged to apply.
