Job Role: HGV Driver

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old. They are equipped with high specifications, including fridges, leather seats, and many optional extras to ensure your comfort.

Our operation runs from Monday to Friday, with 45-hour workweeks and 9-hour shifts starting typically at 7 or 8 am. Our well-organized shift schedules often allow you to know your driving routes in advance, reducing daily stress.

This role offers job security within a growing, global business. We operate a busy fleet, ensuring ample work and the opportunity for additional hours at enhanced rates during bank holidays and night shifts (10 pm - 6 am). You will join a friendly team that supports each other, sharing traffic updates via WhatsApp.

Key Responsibilities

1. We trust our drivers to plan their routes without micromanagement. Each shift involves 4 to 6 stops, providing plenty of time to enjoy the open road, with home time at the end of each 9-hour shift.
2. You will ensure timely delivery and collection of cages, pallets, freight, stillages, and Yorks. Loading or unloading may be part of your duties, depending on the site. Tasks may include scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks.
3. Daily vehicle and trailer inspections are required, with completion of defect reports if necessary.
4. Maintain high standards for customer satisfaction, both internal and external, and communicate effectively to resolve queries promptly, passing unresolved issues to your Site Manager.

Ideal Candidate

• Class 1 Driving Licence
• Completed or working towards required DCPC training hours
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and a commitment to road safety
• A proactive, 'can do' attitude
