Job summary

Network Rail is hiring a Building Surveyor/Engineer to join the Building Team in York, covering the North & East Route. The role involves reviewing condition reports, managing budgets, and delivering safety-focused maintenance and renewal schemes for the railway's building fabric.

You will work with Train Operating Companies, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction across stations, depots, and related structures.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject
• Significant experience in operational property engineering
• Knowledge of policies and standards relating to operational property
• Working towards membership of a relevant professional institution
• Chartered Building Surveyor or Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage asset stewardship and inspection of regional building fabric assets with adherence to policy and strategy
• Develop prioritised maintenance and renewal plans within budget
• Produce and monitor remits for schemes and ensure proper delivery
• Provide engineering analysis and risk assessment for maintenance and renewal projects
• Support operational property engineering acceptance of enhancements
• Liaise with portfolio occupiers and stakeholders on asset stewardship
