Job description

The All England Lawn Tennis Club is seeking to appoint a Building Systems Manager as the Club continues to invest in the future of its estate, ensuring it remains innovative, sustainable and operationally exceptional.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) is best known as the host of The Championships, Wimbledon, the world's oldest Grand Slam tennis tournament. With a rich history and tradition, the AELTC provides world‑class facilities while maintaining the highest standards of excellence. The Club is dedicated to promoting the sport and delivering the continued success of The Championships, which attract the world's best players and millions of fans each year.

We are seeking a Building Systems Manager to become our in‑house authority for building systems and Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) infrastructure across the estate. This is a unique opportunity to influence the performance, resilience and future development of critical building systems within a world‑renowned environment.

Acting as the link between Estate Management and Project Delivery teams, you will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of building systems, ensuring designs, installations and operational assets meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and compliance. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to major estate developments, support decarbonisation initiatives, champion energy efficiency and help define the long‑term strategy for building services and infrastructure across the Club.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of building services engineering and be comfortable reviewing and assuring complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC and controls systems. You will provide technical guidance across both capital projects and operational activities, ensuring building systems integrate effectively with the wider estate and support current and future operational requirements. Working closely with colleagues and external specialists, you will help develop technical standards, review design submissions, support commissioning activities, maintain critical infrastructure records and drive continuous improvement across building management and energy systems. A passion for sustainability, operational excellence and future‑ready infrastructure will be essential to success in the role.

We are open to candidates who have developed their expertise in a variety of environments. You may currently work client‑side within a large, complex estate portfolio, or within a consultancy, engineering practice or contractor supporting significant commercial, public sector, sporting, healthcare, campus‑based or mixed‑use estates and projects. Whatever your background, you will be excited by the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a long‑term client‑side role where you can influence projects from concept through to operation and make a lasting impact on one of the world's most iconic estates.
