Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Building Services Engineer in Ascot to support mechanical building services and infrastructure. You will work under the M&E Team Leader to maintain asset reliability and operational performance across the estate, focusing on day-to-day mechanical operation and long-term resilience.

The role covers reactive and planned maintenance, contract oversight for catering equipment, CAT scanning, and data monitoring via BMS.

Qualifications

  • Recognised formal mechanical or plumbing training (e.g., City and Guilds).
  • Relevant qualifications in a mechanical discipline.
  • Formal training in catering equipment maintenance (advantageous).
  • Significant experience as a Building Services Engineer within a large organisation.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings.
  • Hands–on experience with BMS systems (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and COSHH requirements.
  • Proven experience in fault–finding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and complete reactive and PPM work orders using CAFM.
  • Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards within the M&E team.
  • Support the M&E Team Leader with contractor management, including catering equipment maintenance contract.
  • Assist with onsite C.A.T scanning activities (training available if required).
  • Monitor, document and analyse building performance data via the BMS platform.
  • Carry out fault–finding, maintenance and repair of AHUs and FCUs, including replacement of belts, filters, and components.
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical building services, in line with procedures.
  • Support on-call rota, providing out–of–hours support (1 in 5 weeks).

BJ172 – Building Services EngineerLocation: AscotSalary: GBP45,000 Per AnnumWorking Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per weekOverview: The Mechanical Engineer will support the delivery of all mechanical building services and infrastructure across the venue, working under the direction of the M&E Team Leader.You will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise to support long–term asset maintenance, system reliability and operational performance. Ensuring the longevity and efficient day–to–day operation of the estate's mechanical infrastructure.

  • Monitor and complete reactive and PPM work orders using the CAFM system, ensuring timely completion and accurate record–keeping
  • Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards within the M&E team
  • Support the M&E Team Leader with contractor management, including oversight of the catering equipment maintenance contract and associated service delivery
  • Assist with onsite C.A.T scanning activities (training available if required)
  • Monitor, document and analyse building performance data via the BMS platform, ensuring systems operate effectively
  • Carry out fault–finding, maintenance and repair of AHUs and FCUs, including replacement of belts, filters, and associated components
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of all mechanical building services, in line with site operating procedures and standard maintenance practices
  • Conduct routine mechanical alarm testing, ensuring all results and certification are documented accurately and maintained in compliance logs
  • Support small–scale plumbing and mechanical installation projects, including temporary water and drainage provisions for race days and live events
  • Support the team's on–call rota, providing out–of–hours support (1 in 5 weeks)

Skills and Qualifications:
