Job summary

Fraser Edwards Recruitment, on behalf of a social housing client in the South Benfleet area, is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor (RICS) for a contracting assignment.

You will lead capital projects, manage facilities maintenance, and provide professional surveying advice, with day rate opportunities of £450-£500 per day via Umbrella PAYE. This role requires delivery on time, within scope, and to high standards in a dynamic asset portfolio.

Qualifications

• RICS qualification is essential.
• Proven experience in building surveying, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and contract management.
• Experience overseeing capital projects and managing contractors and service contracts.
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, statutory compliance, and property-related legislation.
• Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and manage competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work proactively with the building maintenance team to support the effective management of the client's property portfolio.
• Lead and manage capital projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
• Oversee facilities management operations and planned maintenance programmes, ensuring properties and assets are well-maintained, optimised, and fit for purpose.
• Manage facilities management and project-related service contracts, monitoring contractor performance and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, statutory regulations, and contractual obligations.
• Provide professional property and building surveying advice to support the client's wider asset management strategy and service objectives.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, providing expert advice on property-related matters as required.

Fraser Edwards is working in partnership with a social housing client in and around the South Benfleet area to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor (RICS) for a contracting opportunity, offering a competitive day rate of £450-£500 per day via Umbrella PAYE.

Key Responsibilities
