Job summary

DK Recruitment is seeking a Building Surveyor in Greater London to support clients with inspections, condition surveys and maintenance planning. You will assess property condition, identify defects and prepare technical recommendations for investment and lifecycle management.

The role emphasises reporting, coordination of refurbishment projects and liaising with clients and contractors to ensure on-time delivery. Relevant degree and strong communication are essential; RICS status is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying, property or a similar technical role.
• Knowledge of building defects, construction methods, maintenance and refurbishment.
• Experience producing technical reports, specifications or schedules of works.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Ability to organise workloads and manage competing priorities.
• Practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• Experience within housing, residential property projects.
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience welcomed.
• RICS membership or working towards chartership would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building inspections, condition surveys and property assessments.
• Identify building defects, maintenance requirements and potential risks.
• Prepare clear technical reports, schedules of works and recommendations.
• Support planned maintenance, refurbishment and improvement programmes.
• Assist with project specifications, tender documentation and procurement activities.
• Monitor works on site, including quality, progress and compliance with specifications where required.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Support clients in prioritising property repairs, investment and lifecycle requirements.
• Maintain accurate survey records, project documentation and reporting.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across surveying, asset management, compliance and project delivery.
